In conjunction with the Fire Chief, responsible for supervising the operations, and personnel of the Fire Department to include the protection of life and property in fire suppression, emergency medical services, and emergency management operations.

Motor Equipment Operator-LHS Laborer

Operates trucks with a rated capacity of more than 3 tons and up through 9 tons, large tractors and equipment such as dump trucks, leaf loaders, snow fighters, sidewalk rollers, and sidewalk plows.

The Wastewater Collection System Supervisor is responsible for the administration, direction and supervision of the planning, design, operation, maintenance, construction, repair, and expansion of the wastewater collection system, pumping stations, and related facilities.

Civilian Dispatcher

Full Time (40 hours per week) $23.97-$29.58 per hour

Dispatchers perform routine to complex clerical and dispatching work in the operation of the City’s Public Safety Communications Center.  Work involves frequent telephone contact with members of the community.  Many situations are emergency in nature, and the individual must be able to think and act clearly and calmly.

The Interview Process

Applications will be accepted through the closing date.  Once the position has closed, all completed applications will be reviewed by the department in a timely manner.  Only those applicants selected will continue in the interview process.  This could result in one or more interviews.  Notices will be sent to those non-selected after the interview process is complete. 

Civil Service Information
